Abstract

  • In April 2021, total commodity exports through ports in Kalimantan Utara Province reached US$ 93.48 million, a decrease of 8.78 percent compared to March 2021 conditions which reached US$ 102.48 million. The export value for the January-April 2021 period reached US $ 372.52 million, an increase of 4.41 percent compared to January-April in 2020.
  • The decline in exports in April 2021 compared to March 2021 was due to a decrease in the value of the export value of the non-oil and gas group of mining and industrial products by 8.63 and 10.55 percent, respectively.
  • The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in April 2021 reached US$ 4.96 million or decreased compared to imports in March 2021. When compared to the January-April 2020 period, the import value of Kalimantan Utara Province for the January-April 2021 period increased by 51.58 percent.
  • The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in April 2021 was dominated by non-oil and gas commodities, especially the industrial product group.
  • The trade balance of Kalimantan Utara Province in April 2021 was a surplus of US $ 88.52 million, a decrease of 8.24 percent when compared to the trade balance in March 2021 which was a surplus of US $ 96.47 million.
