Abstract

  • In July 2021, total commodity exports through the port in Kalimantan Utara Province reached US$ 100.64 million, a decrease of 18.67 percent compared to June 2021 which reached US$ 123.75 million. The export value for the January-July 2021 period reached US$ 708.32 million, an increase of 25.21 percent compared to January-July in 2020.
  • The decline in exports in July 2021 compared to June 2021 was due to a decrease in the value of the export value of the non-oil and gas group of mining products by 22.26 percent and agricultural products by 6.36 percent. The industrial output increased by 0.72 percent.
  • The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in July 2021 reached US$ 11.53 million, an increase compared to imports in June 2021. When compared to the January-July 2020 period, the import value of Kalimantan Utara Province for the January-July 2021 period increased by 33.39 percent.
  • The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in 2021 is dominated by non-oil and gas commodities, especially the industrial product group.
  • The trade balance of Kalimantan Utara Province in July 2021 had a surplus of US$ 89.11 million, a decrease of 25.14 percent when compared to the trade balance in June 2021 which had a surplus of US$ 119.04 million.
