Abstract

The harvested area for paddy in 2020 was 9,883 hectares, a decrease of 412 hectares or 4.00 percent compared to 2019 which amounted to 10,295 hectares.
Paddy production in 2020 amounted to 33,574 tons of milled dry unhulled rice (MDG), an increase of 217 tons or 0.65 percent compared to 2019 which amounted to 33,357 tons of MDG.
When viewed from the subround, there was an increase in paddy production in the January-April and May-August 2020 subrounds, namely 4,545.88 tons of MDG (34.73 percent) and 1,548.75 tons of MDG (30.63 percent) respectively compared to 2019 The decline only occurred in the September - December subround, namely amounting to 5,877 tons of GKG (38.64 percent).
If converted into rice for the population's food consumption, rice production in 2020 will amount to 19,802 tons, an increase of 128 tons or 0.65 percent compared to 2019 which amounted to 19,674 tons.
The potential for paddy production in the January-April 2021 subround is estimated at 20,081 tons of MDG, an increase of 2,447 tons or 13.87 percent compared to the same subround in 2020 which amounted to 17,634 tons of MDG.
