Abstract

  • Of the 90 cities monitored by the national CPI, in February 2022, 37 cities experienced inflation and 53 other cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was found in Kupang Municipality at 0.65 percent while the lowest inflation occurred in Tanjung Selor Municipality at 0.01 percent. The highest deflation was found in Tanjung Pandan Municipality at -2.08 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in PalembanG, Palangkaraya, and Tarakan Municipality at -0.01 percent.
  • Kalimantan Utara Province (Tarakan and Tanjung Selor Municipality Combined) in February 2022 experienced a deflation of -0.01 percent. Tarakan Municipality experienced a deflation of -0.01 percent and Tanjung Selor Municipality experienced an inflation of 0.01 percent.
  • Deflation in Kalimantan Utara Province (Tarakan and Tanjung Selor Municipality Combined) was influenced by a decrease in the index in the transportation group by -0.50 percent, in the food, beverage and tobacco group by -0.20 percent, and in the clothing and footwear group by -0. 11 percent. Meanwhile, the groups that experienced an increase in the index were the personal care and other services group by 0.73 percent, the equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group by 0.35 percent, the food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.20 percent, the housing group, water, electricity, and household fuel by 0.20 percent, the health group by 0.02 percent, the information, communication and financial services group by 0.01 percent, the education group by 0.00 percent and the recreation, sports and culture by 0.00 percent.
