Abstract

  • In June 2021, total commodity exports through the port in Kalimantan Utara Province reached US$ 123.75 million, an increase of 11.07 percent compared to May 2021 which reached US$ 111.41 million. The export value for the January-June 2021 period reached US$ 607.68 million, an increase of 23.68 percent compared to January-June in 2020.
  • The increase in exports in June 2021 compared to May 2021 was due to an increase in the export value of the non-oil and gas category of industrial products by 50.48 percent, mining products by 5.48 percent, and agricultural products by 70.92 percent.
  • The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in June 2021 reached US$ 4.71 million or decreased compared to imports in May 2021. When compared to the January-June 2020 period, the import value of Kalimantan Utara Province for the January-June 2021 period increased by 37.60 percent.
  • The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in 2021 is dominated by non-oil and gas commodities, especially the industrial product group.
  • The trade balance of Kalimantan Utara Province in June 2021 was a surplus of US $ 119.04 million, an increase of 15.15 percent when compared to the trade balance in May 2021 which was a surplus of US $ 103.37 million.
